Πάνω από 350 προσωπικότητες από όλο το κόσμο στηρίζουν το Μανιφέστο

“Να τερματίσουμε το σύστημα των ιδιωτικών ευρεσιτεχνιών”

Την ώρα που στην Παγκόσμια Οργάνωση Υγείας (ΠΟΥ) αρχίζει ένας νέος γύρος διαπραγματεύσεων, πάνω από 350 προσωπικότητες από όλο το κόσμο διατρανώνουν την υποστήριξή τους στο Μανιφέστο “Να τερματίσουμε το σύστημα των ιδιωτικών ευρεσιτεχνιών! Για μια φαρμακοβιομηχανία κάτω από κοινωνικό έλεγχο και ένα δημόσιο, οικουμενικό και δωρεάν σύστημα εμβολιασμού” που υποστηρίζεται από πάνω από 250 οργανώσεις, στις οποίες περιλαμβάνονται μεγάλα διεθνή δίκτυα όπως η Παγκόσμια Πορεία Γυναικών ή το People’s Health Movement (βλέπε τον κατάλογό τους εδώ).

Ο κατάλογος των προσωπικοτήτων δίνεται στη δημοσιότητα στις 8 Ιουνίου με την ευκαιρία της διάσκεψης της ΠΟΥ όπου εξετάζεται η αναστολή των ευρεσιτεχνιών των εμβολίων. Αυτές οι ευρεσιτεχνίες (πατέντες) προστατεύουν τα συμφέροντα μιας μικρής ομάδας μεγάλων ιδιωτικών φαρμακευτικών επιχειρήσεων και εμποδίζουν να αντιμετωπιστεί όπως θα έπρεπε, η πανδημία που έχει προκαλέσει το θάνατο περισσότερων από 3 εκατομμύρια και 745 χιλιάδες ανθρώπων.

Ανάμεσα σε αυτές τις προσωπικότητες βρίσκουμε τους Noam Chomsky και Nancy Fraser από τις ΗΠΑ, την Naomi Klein από τον Καναδά, την Arundhati Roy και την Tithi Bhattacharya από την Ινδία, την Silvia Federici και την Cinzia Arruza από την Ιταλία που διδάσκουν στις ΗΠΑ, στελέχη συνδικάτων και συλλόγων, πάνω από 90 βουλευτές (από Γερμανία, Βολιβία, Βραζιλία, Κολομβία, Δανία, Ισπανία, Γαλλία, Ελλάδα, Ιρλανδία, Ιταλία, Λουξεμβούργο, Πορτογαλία, Τσέχικη Δημοκρατία,…) συμπεριλαμβανομένου και του προέδρου της Γερουσίας της Βολιβίας και 22 μελών του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου. Ανάμεσα στους υπογράφοντες είναι επίσης οι δήμαρχοι του Βαλπαραίσο της Χιλής ή του Κάδιξ της Ισπανίας καθώς και πολλοί δημοτικοί και περιφερειακοί σύμβουλοι. Επίσης, υποστηρίζουν το Μανιφέστο υπεύθυνοι εντύπων πληροφόρησης και γνώμης καθώς και δημοσιογράφοι. Τέλος, στηρίζουν το Μανιφέστο πολυάριθμοι πανεπιστημιακοί.

Πέρα από τη διαπραγμάτευση που διεξάγεται στην ΠΟΥ, οι υπογράφοντες δηλώνουν ότι είναι ανάγκη να ληφθούν δομικά μέτρα για να αντιμετωπιστεί τόσο η παγκόσμια υγειονομική κρίση όσο και η επιδείνωση των συνθηκών διαβίωσης δισεκατομμυρίων ανθρώπων. Οι υπογράφοντες και οι υπογράφουσες δηλώνουν ότι “Τα εμβόλια πρέπει να θεωρηθούν παγκόσμιο κοινό αγαθό”. Προσθέτουν ότι “για να εξασφαλισθεί η οικουμενική τους πρόσβαση, η αναγκαία και κατεπείγουσα αναστολή των ευρεσιτεχνιών (πατέντες) πρέπει να συνοδεύεται από μηχανισμούς εθνικοποίησης των ιδιωτικών φαρμακευτικών βιομηχανιών και από μεγάλες επενδύσεις στην ανάπτυξη δημόσιων φαρμακοβιομηχανιών σε όλες τις χώρες”.

Οι υπογράφοντες και οι υπογράφουσες τονίζουν ότι “Πλανητικές προκλήσεις σαν κι αυτή της πανδημίας απαιτούν τις κατάλληλες παγκόσμιες απαντήσεις. Η ιδιωτική οικονομία, η τυφλή πίστη στην αγορά και το κυνήγι του κέρδους αποδείχτηκαν ασύμβατα με τη ζωή. Η υγεία δεν μπορεί να είναι εμπόρευμα. Η ανάκαμψη της οικονομικής δραστηριότητας δεν μπορεί να γίνει σε βάρος της υγείας και των δικαιωμάτων της πλειοψηφίας”. Υπογραμμίζουν ότι “Η πανδημία επιτάχυνε και βάθυνε τις επικίνδυνες τάσεις, τα κοινωνικά χάσματα και τα πολύμορφα φαινόμενα που παρατηρούμε εδώ και δεκαετίες και από τα οποία υποφέρουν κυρίως οι λαϊκές τάξεις, ειδικά οι γυναίκες και τα θύματα του ρατσισμού”.

Σχετικά με τα εμβόλια και τις θεραπείες, οι υπογράφοντες ζητάνε:

  • Την αναστολή των ιδιωτικών ευρεσιτεχνιών για όλες τις τεχνολογίες, γνώσεις, θεραπευτικές αγωγές και εμβόλια σχετικά με τον COVID-19.
  • Την εξάλειψη των εμπορικών μυστικών και τη δημοσίευση πληροφοριών σχετικά με τα κόστη παραγωγής και τις χρησιμοποιηθείσες δημόσιες επενδύσεις, με τρόπο ξεκάθαρο και προσιτό από το σύνολο του πληθυσμού.

  • Τη διαφάνεια και το δημόσιο έλεγχο σε όλα τα στάδια της ανάπτυξης του εμβολίου.

  • Την οικουμενική, ελεύθερη και δωρεάν πρόσβαση στον εμβολιασμό και στη θεραπευτική αγωγή.

Όσον αφορά τις μεγάλες φαρμακευτικές επιχειρήσεις, οι υπογράφοντες και υπογράφουσες ζητάνε “Την απαλλοτρίωση και την κοινωνικοποίηση κάτω από κοινωνικό έλεγχο της ιδιωτικής φαρμακευτικής βιομηχανίας ως βάσης ενός δημόσιου και οικουμενικού συστήματος υγείας που ευνοεί την παραγωγή γενόσημων θεραπευτικών αγωγών και φαρμάκων”.

Σχετικά με την περίθαλψη με την ευρεία της έννοια, απαιτούν “Την αύξηση των δημόσιων επενδύσεων και προϋπολογισμών για τις δημόσιες πολιτικές υγείας και τις φροντίδες στο σπίτι, συμπεριλαμβάνοντας την αύξηση των προσλήψεων, των μισθών και τη βελτίωση των συνθηκών εργασίας του προσωπικού αυτών των τομέων”.

Σχετικά με τη χρηματοδότηση ζητάνε “Την εισαγωγή της φορολόγησης του πλούτου (των περιουσιών και εισοδημάτων του 1% των πιο πλούσιων) για να χρηματοδοτηθεί η πάλη ενάντια στην πανδημία και να εξασφαλιστεί η κοινωνικά δίκαιη και οικολογικά βιώσιμη έξοδος από τις διάφορες κρίσεις του παγκόσμιου καπιταλισμού.

Την αναστολή της εξόφλησης των χρεών κατά τη διάρκεια της πανδημίας και την ακύρωση των άνομων χρεών και εκείνων που συνάφθηκαν για να χρηματοδοτηθεί η πάλη ενάντια στον ιό”.

Για την CADTM (Επιτροπή για την Κατάργηση των Άνομων Χρεών), είναι ζωτικής σημασίας να επανεκκινήσουμε την πρωτοβουλία που ξεκίνησε στο Σιάτλ το 1999, και η οποία διακήρυσσε ότι “ο κόσμος δεν είναι ένα εμπόρευμα”. Και η υγεία δεν είναι επίσης ένα εμπόρευμα ενώ “ένας άλλος κόσμος είναι (πάντα) εφικτός”. Είναι αποφασιστικής σημασίας να ξεκινήσουμε πάλι το αντιπαγκοσμιοποιητικό κίνημα πάνω σε στέρεη βάση, όπως το 2000/2001.
